This Privacy Policy explains how Cited (“Cited,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with our AI search-visibility analytics service and website (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — name, email, company, and a hashed password when you create an account.
• Brand & tracking data — the brands, products, competitors, prompts, and settings you configure.
• Free-check submissions — the brand, category, website, and email you provide to our “Am I Ranked?” tool.
• Usage & device data — log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps.
• Payment data — handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.

How we use information

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service and generate your analytics.
• Query third-party AI systems and search providers to collect and analyze how brands appear in AI answers.
• Authenticate you, process payments, and provide support.
• Prevent fraud and abuse (including rate-limiting the free check), and enforce our Terms.
• Send service, security, and (where permitted) marketing communications you can opt out of.

AI and third-party processing

To produce visibility metrics we send prompts and captured text to third-party AI and data providers, which process it on our behalf. These may include, among others, Anthropic (Claude), Perplexity, Google/DataForSEO (Google AI Overviews), browser-automation providers, our hosting and database providers, Stripe (payments), and source-control/CI providers. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use a strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and minimal analytics to understand usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Data retention

We retain account and tracking data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion as described below.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (including password hashing and encrypted transport) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@citedanalytics.com. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

International transfers

We and our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
